Sales Policy revised & updated 06/01/09
McCallister Hollow Farm is hereby
referred to below as "MCHF."
McCallister Hollow Farm reserves the
right not to sell or do business with anyone for any reason.
This Sales Policy covers all livestock
& poultry sold by MCHF. Great Pyrenees & Norwegian Elkhound
Dogs are not covered under this sales policy.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
No exceptions. No refunds or exchanges
will be granted. No guarantees or warranties of any kind are
expressed or implied. Once an animal leaves the care of MCHF,
MCHF has no control over its well-being or treatment, therefore,
after the animal leaves MCHF's premises, it is the buyer's
responsibility. Also, biosecurity is very important here at
MCHF, so to help prevent the introduction of disease, once an
animal leaves MCHF's premises, it will not be possible for it to
return (not even as a "give back" or free animal). If
requested, MCHF will be happy to assist you in locating a new home
through referrals.
PRICES: All prices are
"as marked". We do not inflate the price of our animals so
that we can be "negotiable". The rock-bottom prices are
already marked, so please do not inquire and ask if we will take any
less for an animal. This is an effort to be fair and honest to
everyone. You don't have to worry about haggling with us;
everyone pays the same price that way. We've already put the
lowest price that we will accept for an animal. If you'd like
to purchase an animal for a different price than it is priced at,
though, feel free to email us...we're always open to a higher offer!
PICTURES & DESCRIPTIONS: All
animals are pictured as they naturally appear. I do not give
them baths, apply any products, or use any software (i.e. Photoshop)
to enhance their appearance. Besides the basic fact that this
can alter an animal's appearance, I simply don't have the time for
such nonsense--not even if I wanted to do it. I have always
said that pictures are my best descriptions, therefore, it is
important that each animal look in its picture as if you were
looking at it in my pens. My written descriptions are my
overall evaluation of the animal. I try to be descriptive, but
since a description is merely my opinion, I prefer to use pictures
to represent what I have to offer for sale.
PAYMENT INFO: "In God We Trust;
All Others Cash." Deposits may be made by money order, cashiers
check, personal check, or PayPal (credit card, PayPal balance, or
e-Check). Please note that we will only accept a personal
check or e-Check for deposits no sooner than 2 weeks before the
animal is to be picked up or delivered in order to allow sufficient
time for the check to clear. Balance must be paid in cash at
pick-up, or prepaid in advance with PayPal. If paying by PayPal,
add 3.5% to the total payment to cover the transaction fees assessed
on all payments they process.
RESERVING ANIMALS & DEPOSITS:
All animals are sold on a first-come and first-pay basis. No
animal will be held without MCHF having received either the full
payment or a deposit for the desired animal, whichever has been
discussed with you. Please realize that sometimes multiple
inquiries from multiple people on the same animal are received at
the same time. Just because you have expressed interest in an
animal does not mean that we are holding it for you; the first
person that shows us the money will get the animal. If you
wish to definitely purchase an animal, you need to let MCHF know and
I will discuss payment arrangements with you so that the animal may
be placed on hold for you. Too many times an animal has been
held for someone who said they "definitely wanted it" only to never
hear from that person again. That's why nothing is held
without a deposit.
In most instances, a non-refundable
deposit of 50% will be sufficient to hold an animal, unless we have
discussed other arrangements. If the animal is not picked up
by the agreed upon date, any deposit received will be forfeited and
the animal may be placed back up for sale if you have not contacted
us to make other arrangements.
Remember, nothing is considered "Sold"
until the money has reached MCHF. Unless you have received a
confirmation from MCHF stating otherwise, simply saying "the check's
in the mail" doesn't mean the animal is sold.
PICK-UP ARRANGEMENTS: All buyers
need to make arrangements to pick up their animal(s) promptly.
If delivery is required, please contact us in advance to make sure
delivery will be available. MCHF would prefer not to hold an
animal more than 2-3 weeks once it is ready to go (i.e. weaned).
I will try to be as flexible as possible with this, though, as I
understand how difficult it can be to make a long trip when working
full-time. If you need longer to pick up your animal(s), just
let me know as soon as possible, so that we can see what we can work
out for everyone's benefit. If need be, boarding fees may be
possible for extended hold periods.
Shipping/Delivery:
Shipping is available on poultry only. No shipping on
livestock. Delivery is available for a fee on most of our
animals. If you require delivery, please let us know this
before purchasing an animal to make sure we will be able to offer
delivery. Please see the Shipping &
Delivery Information page for more details. *NEW* We are
now able to offer delivery coast-to-coast on most animals. I
have found a few services that offer nationwide delivery for
animals. If anyone needs an animal delivered outside of my
normal delivery range (typically 500 miles or so), please contact me
for more details. We do not ship via airline and I am only
willing to use these providers' delivery services to ensure the
safety and well-being of each animal.
HEALTH PAPERS: If you require a
health certificate for your animal, I can have my vet make all
necessary arrangements. All health certificates & related
expenses are the responsibility of the buyer. The basic health
certificate is usually relatively inexpensive (this is just a basic
visual & physical examination to ensure that the animal is in good
health). However, the additional fees the vet must charge is
what makes a health certificate expensive. In addition to the basic
health certificate, he will also charge a "house call" fee for
coming out to the farm, and that is usually the single biggest
expense. Additional fees will result if there is any
blood work that must be done. Some states may require a health
certificate, so if you need one, just let me know so we can get to
work on it ASAP. It is the buyer's responsibility to check
their home state's laws regarding the transport and import of
poultry and/or livestock. Some states are more strict than
others. **just a note, I do not make a profit on the health
certificates. I only pass along the exact charges that my vet
charges, and you will receive a copy of the bill showing all
charges.
SPECIES SPECIFIC INFO:
DOGS: All Great Pyrenees are
sold under a separate agreement between the buyer and seller, and
the above terms may or may not apply.
