Visits to the farm are by appointment only.  We will be happy to arrange for a visit in order for you to look at an animal that is for sale or to look at our breeders if you are interested in possibly purchasing something in the future.  We just ask that you contact us in advance so that we can make time to include your visit in the schedule. 

Why are appointments necessary?  Well, it's simple...In addition to the regular farm work, I also work a "regular" job, so time around here is very precious.  It is very frustrating--and quite honestly: annoying--to be in the middle of doing something and have someone just drive in to "look at the animals"...The worst timing is when I'm rushing to get the feeding finished so I can get to work on time, only to have someone show up unannounced. I certainly don't mind visitors, but I would like to know in advance when you'd like to come so that the schedule can be cleared out for your visit. Besides, it also helps you the visitor out...there's no use in making a drive to the farm if no one is around.  If anything happens and you need to cancel or re-schedule a visit, PLEASE let me know by email or phone.  Even if you have to cancel at the very last minute, I won't mind at all--just so long as you let me know that you won't be coming. I hate waiting around for no-shows and not getting work done.  As long as you let me know that you won't be coming, then there's no harm done and I won't be left waiting and wondering (and in some cases, worrying!).

Farm sales are always welcome on any of the livestock (goats or hogs) or dogs when available.  You will be welcome to look at any of the larger animals, but as a biosecurity precaution, no one will be permitted in any of the poultry pens.

Poultry Sales from the farm: As stated above, no visitors will be allowed in any of the poultry pens.  In order to help maintain biosecurity and help prevent the introduction of any unwanted diseases, no one will be permitted in any of the poultry buildings, brooders, or other poultry areas.  Poultry may be picked up at the farm, but I do not do "drive-in" sales (the type where people just drop by at any time and walk through all the poultry pens).  If you'd like to pick up any birds, the pick up must be arranged in advance.  Once you arrive, I will either already have your birds ready to go, or I will catch them and bring them out to you upon your arrival.  We do not have anything to hide, but this is a necessary precaution to try and help prevent a disease from being carried in to my birds (pathogens can be carried on clothing, shoes, or in the sinus passages--even if you don't own any birds yourself).  I would actually prefer to be able to completely restrict all visitors to the farm to help prevent the introduction of any disease, but since we also have the other livestock, that's obviously not possible.  Also, please be sure to bring a suitable carrying cage or box to put your birds in...I do not have boxes and under no circumstances will I be able to "loan" any cages.
